Eligibility: Opening Doors to Education

The RPCP is designed to support families seeking an alternative to public education for their children. Eligibility criteria are thoughtfully set to ensure that the program benefits those who need it most:

  • Residency Requirement: Students must reside within the RUSD boundaries. Those living in Racine County but outside the RUSD can still explore options within the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program.
  • Entry Points: New students can join the RPCP at pivotal stages – K4, K5, 1st grade, or upon meeting specific prior year attendance requirements such as enrollment in a non-participating Wisconsin public school, homeschooling, or being on a waiting list for any Wisconsin Choice Program.
  • Income Threshold: Family income must not exceed 300% of the federal poverty level, ensuring the program is accessible to families who can benefit most from financial assistance.

The Power of Choice: RPCP Voucher Amounts

The RPCP stands out by offering substantial financial support towards tuition, with voucher amounts set to cover full tuition costs:

  • For the 2023–2024 school year, vouchers are valued at $9,893 for grades K-8 and $12,387 for grades 9-12.
  • The 2024–2025 school year sees an increase to $10,237 for K-8 and $12,731 for grades 9-12, reflecting annual adjustments in line with state public school funding increases.
